Creating Poetry

Join Michel Thérien, local poet, to go through the process of creating poetry.  If you can, come with something you have written.  This workshop will give you the opportunity to refine your skills and share your writing with other people. The first half of the workshop will focus on developing a toolbox of techniques to use in writing poetry.  In the second half, participants will use these techniques, write, and then share their work.  Michel will also discuss local opportunities to share your work, and the process of getting published. No experience is required.  Just bring your lust for words.

Michel Thérien is from Ottawa. He has published 10 books of poetry. His work has been translated in several languages and has received national and international recognition. In his travels, he teaches creative writing and enjoys giving conferences and workshops related to the art of writing poetry.
