All Ottawa Public Library branches will be closed on Monday, August 2. Virtual services and loans can be accessed on our website. 

Temporary closure: Alta Vista

Due to upgrades to the front entrance, the Alta Vista branch will be closed from July 26 to August 8. There will be no returns or holds pick-up during that time. Alta Vista branch will reopen August 9 at 10 am.

Browsing, public computers, newspapers and magazines are available inside most of our 31 open branches, with capacity limits for two-metre distancing. Up to 200 items can also be put on hold.

Scratch Frisbee Coding Game

Join uOttawa Maker Mobile for a fun interactive workshop. You will use Scratch, a kid's friendly software to learn about programming, to code their own game. You will create a game where you are throwing a Frisbee and your dog needs to catch it! Ages 7-12

About Scratch
Scratch is a block-based visual programming language developed by M.I.T and used around the world to teach coding to kids. It is recommended to create an account at scratch.mit.edu/join before the workshop to be able to save your work and keep playing after the activity.
