Temporary closure: Alta Vista

Due to upgrades to the front entrance, the Alta Vista branch will be closed from July 26 to August 8. There will be no returns or holds pick-up during that time. Alta Vista branch will reopen August 9 at 10 am.

Browsing, public computers, newspapers and magazines are available inside most of our 31 open branches, with capacity limits for two-metre distancing. Up to 200 items can also be put on hold.

Sketching for Self-Care: Doodling and the superpowers of your brain!

Teen Staycation

Hey guess what?! Our brains are AMAZING and full of secret superpowers. Doodling is one of the best ways to explore the secret side of your brain. 

Join Brenda from Art in Jest for this very special drawing workshop!  You will learn simple drawing exercises to help get your brain to relax, focus, unwind. We'll play with cartooning and comic-making to help us come up with all KINDS of crazy new ideas. 

For ages 13-18. Registration required. Registrants will receive an additional email with the Zoom link ahead of the program.

Required material

If you already have a sketchbook or drawing materials you like, bring them along.

If you are new to drawing don't worry, a regular old pen and paper will do the trick!
