Ukulele Classes for Teens

Learn to play pop songs on the ukulele with an experienced music teacher, right from home via Zoom. All the basic skills of playing ‘strumming’ style ukulele will be explained. We’ll build a repertoire of songs including recent hits (mainly from Canadian artists), and timeless classics. Participants will need to have access to a ukulele.

Session 1 - Starting right from scratch:

Learn to tune your ukulele

Learn about chord diagrams

Basic approaches to strumming

Learn 3 basic chords: F, Am, C

Play 2 easy songs: Alessia Cara’s ‘Scars to Your Beautiful’ and Chosen by participants from a list of options

Session 2 - Builds on skills learned in Session 1:

Strumming Patterns

Add 3 new chords to our growing vocabulary

Add 2 more songs to our repertoire: Shawn Mendes’ ‘In My Blood’ and Chosen by participants from a list of options

Session 3 - Builds on skills learned in Session 1 & 2:

Next strumming pattern

Add 2 new chords to our vocabulary

Add 1 new song to our repertoire: Chosen by participants from a list of options.

Play all 5 of our songs together to review and solidify your new repertoire
