Unpacking the Black Box: Algorithmic Literacy

4 teens thinking about programs

Whether it’s how a search engine sorts query results or how a video site decides what videos to recommend to you, algorithms have become a central part of our lives. This session will explore how our online experiences are shaped by algorithms, how those algorithms make decisions based on our personal information, and how teens can take control of their online identity and experience. For ages 13-18.

This session is presented by Marc-Alexandre Ladouceur, Media Education Specialist at MediaSmarts, Canada's centre for digital media literacy.

Registration required. Registrants will receive an additional email with the Zoom link ahead of the program.
