Former Inmate

Lee Chapelle was 16 when a judge first sentenced him to jail. Over a 25-year span, he served time in maximum, medium and low security federal prisons and provincial jails, including two stays at the Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre. Now on the outside, he counsels and advocates on behalf of clients facing/serving time through his business Canadian Prison Consulting. He lectures locally on correctional reform and inmate human rights, with an emphasis on ending solitary confinement. He self-published his story in the book One Man's Journey: Inside and Out.
