GREAT SCOTS: Canadian Fiction Writers with Links to Scotland, from 1867 to Today

Douglas Gibson, Canadian writor and storytellor, in front of an OPL banner

Douglas Gibson is a Canadian literature publishing icon, editor, writer and raconteur.  In his new show, he will take us through our Canadian history, discussing storytellers in their historic background.  Among the Great Scot authors are predictable names like Hugh MacLennan, Alistair MacLeod, and Alice Munro, but also some that will surprise you, like Philippe-Joseph Aubert de Gaspe and Mavis Gallant.  Join us for an entertaining and informative evening!

Presented in partnership with the Scottish Society of Ottawa.
