Regular hours resume on September 7 2021

Ottawa Public Library will return to regular pre-pandemic hours at most branches starting Tuesday, September 7, 2021 — including Sunday hours at 10 branches and InfoService as of Sunday, September 12.  

Hours are posted at branch entrances and on the Hours and location page of the OPL website.   

Fitzroy Harbour and Vernon branches are reopening after being closed since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

Rideau branch-Elevator out of service

The elevator at Rideau is currently out of service for maintenance and repairs. Service will be restored on Monday, September 27th.

Homebound services

Eligibility

OPL customers can request to have OPL employees regularly select Library materials and deliver them to their door every month. This free, bilingual service is available to borrowers who are confined to their home or residence for more than 3 months because of age, illness or disability and cannot visit a Library branch or Bookmobile stop.

How to choose and receive Library materials

  • Library employees select materials for you based on your profile, and/or you may also request specific titles.
  • Materials are delivered to you every month, either by OPL employees or volunteers. The Library delivers to individual homes, retirement residences and long term care facilities.

Homebound Services also provides a selection of materials for institutional activity programs for seniors.
