Public Computers and Wireless Access

Need access to a computer?

The library provides computer workstations at all 33 branches. Using your library card number and PIN, you can book computer time in advance online. Unbooked computers may also be used on a drop-in basis.

  • Patrons may reserve up to two hours per day of PC access.
  • Users are required to abide by the Library's Public Network Access policy.
  • You may make a booking today plus 7 days in advance.

The wireless network is available between the hours of 7 am and 11pm.

Available software and peripherals

The library provides the following services:

Software

The following software is available: Windows 10, Acrobat Reader, Google Chrome browser, Microsoft Office Suite 2016 (in English and French) including Excel, Paint, Powerpoint, Word, Internet Explorer, Notepad, and a variety of games. Please note: The PCs do not permit the installation of software or the running of executable files.

Printing

Printing is provided at all branches for 10 cents a page

Saving

All branches provide patrons the ability to save their work on flash drives or USB sticks.

Specialized PC Types

ZoomText PCs provide screen magnification software and larger screens. Available in all Branches, Windows10 provides a variety of Accessible Features in System Settings under Ease of Access such as High Contrast Display, Speech Dictation, and Narrator Screen Reader.

Scanning

Scanners are available for use at all branches. All branches that have a multifunction MFD Kyocera machine can scan a document to a USB key.
