Ottawa Urban Wildlife: Biodiversity of animals in Ottawa

Four animals crossing the road (skunk, fox, cardinal and chipmunk)

Did you know our homes in Ottawa are next to a vast community? The kind of community that has four legs or paws or beaks- Ottawa’s urban wildlife animals. With the amount of time we are spending at home, people are discovering nature again, and with this comes a range of wildlife and birds. When we learn to coexist with other species (even those critters we might not always adore) it allows us to connect and enjoy the natural world.

This series examines topics such as Ottawa bird species and how to make our city bird safe, the biodiversity of our wildlife, Ottawa specifies at risk and how to appreciate the various urban wildlife safely for both humans and animals.
