Pedometers are instruments that measure the distance traveled on foot by registering the number of steps taken. Whether taking a walk during lunch with colleagues, or spending time outdoors with family and friends, every step counts towards physical activity. Pedometers have been proven to be successful in motivating people to walk more. So why not borrow a pedometer from the Library for a three week period!

These pedometers are offered through a partnership between Ottawa Public Health and the Ottawa Public Library.
