Pet series - Hands-on Tricks and Tips

This workshop / classroom on dog training will include hands-on tricks and tips for families with younger children, examples of how to groom and how to handle a dog, and most importantly, will teach you fun games, and training elements. This is a practice / teaching space, bring your dog with you if you want!

ABOUT THE SERIES

During the pandemic, a lot of people are adopting pets. But adopting a pet comes with the responsibility of caring for them and training them. This has resulted in a huge demand for pet-training services-- right when many training schools and pet stores are closed because of lockdown! There is also a new twist to online scams, with "offers" for expensive dogs online! Where is the new or potential pet owner to go for resources or events about purchasing a pet?

The Ottawa Public Library is therefore partnering with Ruff House to offer an online series of tips, resources, guides and demonstrations to help inform locked down pet owners. Sessions will include basic training, grooming, feeding, essentials you need to know / have when getting a dog, what is and is not available in the way of services during lockdowns, online resources, and even alerts about the scams online.
