    A 90-minute collaborative story building adventure for groups of children aged 6-12. Children share, combine and vote their favourite ideas into a story fit for a picture book! They also draw colorful pictures to add more detail to the choices they've made. Author Timm Holmes then performs an interactive storytelling to prove the children have become authors of an amazing story that they built together! Discover more at

    Eye spy...a giant purple people eater! 

    Join us for a 2-week program and make your own alien paper mâché nightlight!

    Week 1 we will make our fantastic creation and week 2 we will decorate it!

    Are you looking for a job? Applying for volunteer positions? Come learn all the necessary skills to do so at the St-Laurent Branch of the Ottawa Public Library, with a program offered in conjunction with BGC Ottawa.

    For ages 15-24. Please register for the program. Note that this is a program series, so please show up to each date below. The topics covered in this session are the same as were covered in the July session.

    For this program, Parrot Partners will bring at least 3 parrots, from different areas of the world, ranging in size from very small and ‘spunky’ to massive and ‘mellow.’  We introduce each parrot, one at a time, and share interesting and entertaining facts and stories about their natures and lives in the wild and in our homes.   Participants will be offered the opportunity to give our parrots a treat or drink from a safety cup or feeding skewer, as well as pose for photos with the parrots. Family program for ages 4+.

    Come discover the fascinating (and sometimes mysterious) objects in our History Box! The box contains Canadian historical objects from the Canadian Museum of History’s signature exhibition, the Canadian History Hall, that will help you delve into Canada’s past. For this session, we will focus on Canada's Indigenous communities.
