Join us for a fascinating program of short films for adults from women filmmakers!

The Girl with the Red Beret celebrates harmony and togetherness in its lighthearted look at the vagaries of taking public transit.

In Zeb’s Spider, when the superstitious Zeb finds a spider in her apartment, she must do everything in her power to keep the unwanted guest’s appetite satisfied, or risk being eaten herself.

The End of Pinky, adapted from a short story by Heather O’Neill, who also narrates the film, follows three fallen angels seeking companionship in Montreal’s red-light district.

Etched directly onto tinted 70 mm film, Two Sisters depicts the story of two sisters: Viola, who writes novels in a dark room, and Marie, her only companion.

A bold blend of comedy, suspense and philosophy, The Flying Sailor is an exhilarating contemplation of the wonder and fragility of existence.

In the voiceover for The Great Malaise, a young woman attempts to describe herself, casting her life in the ideal light that society expects. The film’s imagery, however, tells a different story, poignantly illustrating the intense anxiety that comes with the quest for perfection and the pursuit of happiness.

The Cannonball Woman is a bittersweet stop-motion animated film about love standing the test of time.

Arctic Song tells Inuit stories of how the land, sea and sky came to be in beautifully rendered animation.

64 min. Films brought to you by the National Film Board.
