    Drop-in and learn to knit or crochet with Sunnyside's awesome Knit and Knatter club regulars!  

    We will provide yarn, needles, and crochet hooks. For children and teens ages 6 and up.

    Registration is required for each of the days you intend to attend.

    Come join award-winning author & illustrator Rob Justus for a goofy character draw-along. Rob will highlight some of his work, but more importantly give a quick tutorial on some of the basics of drawing and creating fun-loving characters. These workshops are for any level of budding artists. Registration Required. Ages 8-12.

    Join the Ottawa Humane Society and learn to be a good buddy to dogs! Participants will learn how to safely approach a dog, what to do if they ever feel afraid around a dog, and explore bite-prevention tips through role-playing scenarios. Family program for ages 4+. Registration required. 

    Depending on availability, a temperament-tested volunteer dog might might join us!

    Discover what happens when science meets art! Explore perception as you use shadows, colour, motion, and light to create art from science. You’ll make a puppet, a spinning top and a kaleidoscope, as well as design your own galaxy. As Albert Einstein said: “The greatest scientists are always artists as well!” Presented by Scientists in Schools. Ages 8-12.

    Get ready for a storytelling adventure that will test the limits of your imagination. We are playing Dungeons & Dragons: The Crystal Dragon’s Lair. Play as young dragons defending your home. Ages 10-12. Registration required. Space is limited to 6 participants. This program will be presented virtually over Zoom.

    In this mask-making workshop facilitated by Ottawa Art Therapy Inc, participants will take a creative journey to express and uncover the layers of their true self, what is important to them, and the parts of their world where they find connection. The participants will be working with a variety of materials, allowing a multi-media approach to their process. This dynamic workshop offers not only artistic fulfillment but also a deeper understanding of who they are and a time to tap into their inner artist and connect with others on a similar journey. Ages 7-12.
