    This is a group for people who love to write.

    Participants meet every second Saturday to discuss all things writing, whether it be highlighting their work, exchanging feedback or above all else, sharing their passion for the craft.  Practitioners from all skill levels and writing genres are welcome.

    Registration preferred. Drop-ins are welcome.

    Dive into the world of online video streaming! Ottawa Public Library provides access to resources such as Hoopla, Curio.ca, Kanopy, & more. Adults are invited to a presentation and information session with library staff about various online streaming services accessible through OPL. You may bring your mobile device to practice using these resources but are not required to do so. ​

    Technology and Social Media can be overwhelming.

    Teen Volunteers share their Social Media knowledge with older Adult in a two-on-one setting.  

    Areas of technology help will focus on user’s personal account use by initial setting up of the accounts and how use the site:

    X (former Twitter)

    Pinterest

    One hour= One topic

    If you want to cover a different topic from the list, Facilitator will need to approve it, as this is a one hour session.

    Meeting place: Teen Zone on the 3rd floor.

    Please bring your device fully charged (ex. cell phone, tablet, or laptop).

    Please provide a phone number we can contact you about your topic.

    You can sign up for one session and one waiting list slot per quarter.

    Do you need help with your tax return? If you have a modest income and a simple tax situation, trained volunteers may be able to complete your tax return for you for free. Ottawa Public Library is partnering with the Canada Revenue Agency to offer free tax preparation through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program.

    The Stittsville branch will be offering free tax clinics on a first-come, first-served basis. Weekday sessions will be offered in English, and Saturday sessions will be offered in English, Ukrainian, and Russian.

    Before arriving to the free tax clinics, please verify whether you meet the Canada Revenue Agency’s eligibility criteria.

    Click on the "View full schedule" button on the right of the screen to see when the clinics will be offered. Sign-up sheets will be made available 30 minutes prior to the clinic start time.

    Avez-vous besoin d’aide pour remplir votre déclaration de revenus? Si vous avez un revenu modeste et une situation fiscale simple, des bénévoles formés pourraient remplir vos déclarations de revenu gratuitement. La Bibliothèque publique d’Ottawa s’allie avec l’Agence du revenu du Canada afin d’offrir des comptoirs d’impôt gratuits par l’entremise du Programme communautaire des bénévoles en matière d’impôt.  

    La succursale Stittsville offrira des comptoirs d’impôts gratuits selon le principe du premier arrivé, premier servi. Les séances en semaine seront offertes en anglais et les séances du samedi seront offertes en anglais, en ukrainien et en russe.

    Avant de vous présenter aux comptoirs d’impôt gratuits, veuillez vous assurer de répondre aux critères d’admissibilité de l’Agence du revenu du Canada.

    Appuyez sur le bouton « Voir l’horaire complet » à la droite de l’écran afin de voir quand les comptoirs seront offerts. Les feuilles d'inscription seront disponibles 30 minutes avant le début de la séance.

    Join us for a session of Dungeons and Dragons. Beginners and experienced players welcome. Dungeons and Dragons is a fantasy role playing game in which your characters explore the world, solve puzzles and fight monsters.  ​

    Ages 9-12. Please register.​
