    Design with Sphero Indi, the colour-sensing robot car! Kids will design mazes and guide Indi using colour tiles while learning coding basics and problem solving! Presented by Carleton University’s Virtual Ventures STEM Outreach program. Ages 6-10.

    The History Box is a hands-on learning experience that brings the Canadian Museum of History into the library.

    Coming from across the country, and highlighting varied perspectives, these expertly curated objects illuminate the richness and diversity of the Canadian experience.  The History Box contains authentic and reproduction artifacts related to Canada’s history, from the earliest times to the present. 

    Each object in the History Box reflects one or more of the themes below:

    Canadian Identity

    Geography and the Environment

    Indigenous and European Relations

    Symbols, Art and Cultural Expression

    Ages 8-12

    Learn beginner-level ukulele in a fun and engaging way with our resident musician, Ross. Take your first steps with the instrument, learn the chords, and even play your first songs! Instruments provided by the library. Age 13-18.

    Interested in playing D&D?  Then join us on for a D&D adventure.  Dungeons and Dragons is a fantasy role playing game in which your characters explore the world, solve puzzles and fight monsters. For ages 13-17.  Spaces limited.

    Local mystery author, Brenda Chapman, will be at the branch to discuss her writing process and her journey to becoming the author of over 25 novels. She will talk about her two adult series: the lauded Stonechild and Rouleau police procedural series and the Hunter and Tate mysteries, both of which are set in Ottawa!
