You want your book to look both beautiful and professional. Thom Whalen has fifteen years experience publishing his own and other author's books. He will explain the decisions an author must make when designing both the cover and interior of a book. This understanding is important to authors who publish their own books, whether they develop the skills themselves or contract with specialists to do the work for them.

Curious about Dungeons and Dragons? Give it a try with this one-session-long adventure for beginners!

D&D is a popular fantasy role-playing game in which your characters explore, solve puzzles, and fight or outwit monsters. Learn the basic rules of this popular game as you undertake an adventure with fellow players!

This adventure uses pre-generated characters, so you must register at least 5 days ahead of time to bid of your preference of character and get your info sheet before game-day. Late registrants will be assigned a random character.

    Ages 12-18

Note: this session is a repeat of the adventure played on October 16th, so if you played that session, please do not register for this session - it would be less fun knowing the puzzles and enemies ahead of time. Give other beginners a chance to learn, and stay tuned for a new game coming up later!

From the words of politicians to product advertisements, “evidence” is commonly cited as a way to justify actions and to persuade. Similarly, we often rely on the evidence available to us to make decisions in our daily lives. But how do we know what evidence is reliable when there is so much misinformation out there, or where to look when no evidence is provided? Join us for a conversation on how to better understand and engage with evidence, and why this is important for a healthy democracy.
