Join author Alyssa Delle Palme for a Teen Creative Writing Workshop. The workshop will cover; characterization, use of five senses in writing, maintaining a journal, and an opportunity to receive peer support and group feedback. It will be conducted using a variety of teaching methods including discussions, lecture, and hands-on application of techniques. Teens will also have an opportunity to share their stories if they wish.
Alyssa Delle Palme is a writer and director of Wild Roots Nature and Forest School. Her debut novel, Summer at Pine Lake, was published by Evernight Teen in 2023.

D&D is a popular fantasy role-playing game in which your characters explore, solve puzzles, and fight or outwit monsters. Learn the basic rules of this popular game as you undertake an adventure with fellow players! This adventure uses pre-generated characters, so you must register at least 5 days ahead of time to bid of your preference of character and get your info sheet before game-day. Late registrants will be assigned a random character.

This will be a three-part adventure that takes place in the ongoing location of Dragonsbourne, and its surroundings. Though this game is intended for teens who have played D&D before, beginners are also welcome. Please bring a 1st or 2nd level character and dice. Pre-made characters and dice will be provided for those who do not have their own. This game is intended for ages 13-17.

minutesAn overdose is a life-threatening medical emergency. Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, while waiting for 911 to arrive. Being able to recognize the signs of an overdose quickly and having a naloxone kit can save a life.
Join Ottawa Public Health nurses for this 30-minute virtual information and training session on how to identify and respond to an overdose, including how to administer Naloxone, followed by a 15-minute Q&A. Information on how to obtain a free kit will be provided as part of this presentation.
Program is virtual only. Email with link to event will be sent out days before the program.
