Are you a writer or author looking to learn more about the indie publishing process? Join author N.G. Avant for this monthly program discussing key aspects of the indie publishing process. This will include topics such as beta reading, getting book reviews, navigating platforms like Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) or Draft to Digital, building an author brand, and creating engaging social media content.

Title: Free Income Tax Clinic / Clinique d’impots gratuite
Do you need help with your tax return? If you have a modest income and a simple tax situation, trained volunteers may be able to complete your tax return for you for free. Ottawa Public Library is partnering with the Canada Revenue Agency to offer free tax preparation through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program.
Elmvale Acres will be offering free tax clinics in English on a first-come, first-served basis.
Before arriving to the free tax clinics, please verify whether you meet the Canada Revenue Agency’s eligibility criteria.

Si vous avez un revenu modeste et une situation fiscale simple, des bénévoles formés pourraient remplir vos déclarations de revenu gratuitement. La Bibliothèque publique d’Ottawa s’allie avec l’Agence du revenu du Canada afin d’offrir des comptoirs d’impôt gratuits par l’entremise du Programme communautaire des bénévoles en matière d’impôt.
La succursale Elmvales Acres offrira des comptoirs d’impôts gratuits en Anglais seulement selon le principe du premier arrivé, premier servi.
Avant de vous présenter aux comptoirs d’impôt gratuits, veuillez vous assurer de répondre aux critères d’admissibilité de l’Agence du revenu du Canada.

Monday Apr 28, 2025 at 1:00pmJoin Sylv Chiang in an interactive session that gets kids thinking about their passions and how to use planning and perseverance to achieve their goals. Using examples from the life of Jaden, the 12-year-old gamer in the Cross Ups series, as well as examples from her own life, Sylv will illustrate how people can use a Growth Mindset to change over time. We will also take a look at the video game characters from the Cross Ups series who can all transform into mythical creatures to do their “super” moves. Finally, participants will receive a template for drawing themselves as a video game avatar performing their own “super” move based on their passion.
