This is a book club, conversation space and community for parents or caregivers of little people who are looking for shared connection on the struggles and joys of parenting. Sleepless nights, big emotions, stepping on a toy car that feels like a shard of glass and surprise jam on your best work shirt, parenting is not always the social media perfect picnic it is cracked up to be. At the same time you love them to bits and are trying to merge the life before them with your current reality while also keeping all the balls in the air and doing your best to raise kind and thoughtful humans amidst a crazy and changing world.

Explore concepts of parenting, identity and the ever present “mom or dad guilt”.

If you don’t have time to read the book, still come! Chill vibes and welcoming space.

Think about all the data on your PC; videos of the grandkids playing in a park, photos of your trip to Patagonia (lucky you!), tax records, emails… Now think about whether those files exist anywhere else. If the answer is no, you need to think about backup. You could lose data due to viruses, fire, theft, tornado, hard disk failure, making an unintended change to a file, or a wayward finger deleting a file.

Chris Taylor, President of the Ottawa PC Users' Group will discuss various ways you can ensure your important data survives any catastrophe.

The Granny Squares for Warmth (GSFW) group was created in November 2020 as a Barrhaven-based group with a mission to create and donate hand-made blankets in the Ottawa area.

In addition to blankets, members have also made and donated shawls, hats, and baby wear.

Join us to crochet and join granny squares, to share and learn crochet stitches and techniques and to build a sense of community by making blankets for those in need.
