Bravo, you have started reading simple books on your own! Each month we’ll be doing a literacy activity based on a favorite book series from the Early Readers collection of the library. Ages 5-7. In English only.

A school readiness program for children 3-4 years-old, who will be entering kindergarten in September 2023, and their adult co-learner.

Stories and child-centered learning stations focusing on foundational concepts of letter recognition, numeracy, colors, shapes, measurement, rhyming and retelling.

In this virtual workshop, children and teen author Gordon Korman will discuss how he wrote his first novel when he was only twelve! He will also talk about research, brainstorming, developing characters, dialogue, rewriting and revising your work, and of course, humor!

About the author: Gordon Korman has written over 100 books for kids and teens. Book 101, The Superteacher Project, is hot off the press. His very first out-of-town author reading was here in Ottawa, back when he was just a teenager. His books have been translated into 32 languages and have sold over 35 million copies worldwide. Originally from Canada, Gordon Korman completed a BFA degree from New York University and now lives in New York.
