    While we can't travel back in time to these magical days, we can give you the next best thing - the Beaverbrook Book Fair! Join us for an all-day event where you can browse staff-picked favourites from every genre and leave with your next favourite read, plus some fun freebies.

    Ages 10 to 14 years old. Register and unravel a new skill called finger knitting!

    Our focus will be to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2024, Year of the Dragon by knitting a snake (aka: Dragon). We will supply the wool, instructions and a space for you to learn. Register online please.

    Drop by to play some of the many games on our Oculus Rift system! Explore mountains or deep seas, ride roller coasters, soar as an eagle, challenge your agility with Beat Saber or Fruit Ninja, defend your castle as an archer or your spaceship with a laser, and many more! 

    All games are single-player with English dialogue/text.

    Safety tip: to prevent falls, wear closed flat shoes, not flip-flops or heels

    Ages: 10 to Adult (headset may be too large to fit smaller players)

Join us for a trivia night at the Beaverbrook Branch where you'll tackle questions from a wide range of categories (not just about books!) to win a prize and the respect of the trivia community. Enjoy a fun atmosphere, good music, questions for teens and older adults alike, and refreshments!

    Learn the basics of how to make colourful knotted bracelets out of thread!

    We will demonstrate two beginner patters - diagonal lines and arrowheads/chevrons - to help you build the fundamental skills you can adapt into more complicated patterns.

    Use the supplies provided, or feel free to bring your own embroidery floss!
