The Republic of Childhood, an extension of the Ottawa Writers Festival programming centred around the creativity of children and youth, was launched in 2017 and is inspired by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
This winter, they are partnering with the Ottawa Public Library on a series of writing workshops for young people.
Each series includes five 90 minute sessions. A chap book will be produced with each writer's work and will be shared during the Ottawa Writers Festival spring edition May 4-7.
Join Tu Vuong for a 5-Week Youth Poetry workshop, Saturdays February 18, 25, Saturdays March 4, 25 and Saturday April 1st from 1:00-2:30pm. For ages 11-15.
Tu Vuong is an educator who has worked as a consultant, teacher and advocate for newcomer families and students. She has been a lead in projects with the Ontario Ministry of Education, Apple Education, and has contributed numerous educational content to various magazines, blogs and podcasts. She is a recipient of the Director of Education Commendation Award 2022. She currently resides in Ottawa, Canada.
