    Join us for a program that features:

    dimmed lighting

    sensory toys

    a smaller number of participants

    an adapted circle time with stories, rhymes and songs

    During this program there will be opportunities for open play and a chance to connect with other families. The circle time portion of this program is offered in the last 20 minutes of the session. A family member must be present for the duration of the program.

    This program provides a welcoming environment and respects the needs of children from 18 months to 6 years who live with developmental disabilities and/or autism, or who show signs of a developmental delay

    An open house for persons with dementia, their care partners and families.

    Fun and stimulating mental activities are planned to enhance the social interactions and the connections that are built within the group. Light snacks and warm drinks are served alongside items that aim to spark conversations and reminiscing.

    Reminisce with us on a nostalgic trip every fourth Wednesday of the month as we play a film from the classic/Golden era of Hollywood  This month's pick is The Philadelphia Story.

    The film was directed by Billy Wilder was released in 1940. The screening will take place in our auditorium, starts at 6:00PM and is free to attend.

    Note: The film is intended for a mature audience. 112 minutes. In English with subtitles.

    Explore science through Carleton University’s popular Science Cafés. Put on by the Faculty of Science. 

    You are invited to join us for lively discussions around a scientific issue of the day. Be prepared to be informed, engaged and entertained, as our professors share their scientific discoveries and research with you. Each Café includes a 30 to 40 minute talk by a scientist followed by a moderated question and answer period.

    The Science Café series is free to attend and all are welcome!

    Presented by Dying With Dignity Canada (Ottawa Chapter), End of Life Options (including MAiD) is a workshop to educate people about the options available to mitigate or end suffering at life's end, including palliative care, treatment options, and Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). Workshop includes the current legislation on MAiD, the process for applying in Ontario and explanation of the experience by a loved one.

    Join us at the library for a delightful afternoon of camaraderie and creativity at our Senior Social Program. This program offers a welcoming environment where seniors can engage in board games, playing cards, and crafts, fostering both fun and friendship.

    Activities Include:

    Board Games: Rediscover classic board games such as Scrabble, Chess, and Monopoly, or explore new favorites with fellow participants.

    Playing Cards: Whether you enjoy Bridge, Euchre, or simply a friendly game of Go Fish, there is a deck waiting for you.

    Crafts: Unleash your creativity with various crafting activities. From simple projects like card making to more intricate endeavors, our crafting corner offers something for every skill level.

    Additional Information: Light refreshments will be provided. This program is free and open to all seniors in the community. Registration is not required. Come join the fun! This program will take place on the last Thursday of each month.
