    Join us for a free screening of Moonlight as part of our "The Ever-Evolving Self" movie theme for May. The film was directed by Barry Jenkins and was released in 2016. The screening will take place in our auditorium, starts at 6:00PM and is free to attend.

    Note: The film is intended for a mature audience. 111 minutes. In English with subtitles.

    Join us for gardening club, all are welcome and no experience necessary!  

    We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month.  Everything from starting seedlings to growing all season.

    Come for coffee, tea, great garden conversations and free resources to start your garden along with the opportunity to share seeds and plants.

    Do you love browsing through cookbooks and trying new recipes?  Then come and meet with fellow food enthusiasts and put a cookbook to the test! Each month we will follow a theme and select cookbooks from that theme. We will then make recipes at home and share comments on the results with the group.

    We meet to enjoy lively good-natured discussions of a wide variety of books selected by our members. All assessments, interpretations, and opinions are valued and respected. Everyone is welcome!​

    An open house for persons with dementia, their care partners, and families. This program is drop-in, but if you choose to register you will receive a reminder email.

    Fun and stimulating mental activities are planned to enhance the social interactions and the connections that are built within the group. Light snacks and warm drinks are served alongside items that aim to spark conversations and reminiscing.

    Second Wednesday of each month (starts in September 2024). 10:30 am - 12:30 p.m.

    Planning for your dependant's end of life' experience.

    Do you have a dependant with a disability that would hinder them from making decisions concerning their care at the end of life ? Do you think you may die before your dependant? Would you like to have a say in medical interventions at the end of their lives? Would you like to make sure they would have the care that you would choose if you were with them? Would you like input into their after death service?

    Come and chat with Mar. We'll chat about Guardianship, Recording idiosyncrasies your child may have that your guardian and care staff would need to know, Writing down your wishes for your child for medical interventions, Expressing your desire for your child to die at their home, hospital or hospice and Making burial and funeral arrangements, 

    Mainly, How to talk to your guardian. You need to talk, talk, talk so they know your wishes

    Drop-ins welcome, but registration preferred.

    Please choose one session (afternoon or evening).

    Ottawa Public Library is partnering with the Home Hospice Association to offer death cafés with various themes. Check out the OPL website for upcoming death cafés.

    you’re in the wrong class! The Teacher in the front. .. Isn’t even in your science teacher-but the kindergarten
    teacher you had! As Excited as you are to be back in the land of play-doh and crayons, you quickly realize that
    something is terribly wrong. Time isn’t moving forward and if you don’t figure out quick how to get yourself out
    of the flashback. .. You will be repeating that same hour of kindergarten, over and over and over again! You Just
    want it to be the weekend. .. Please!
