Join Marlene Marrow from the Home Hospice Association for a group-directed discussion of pet loss. The Pet Lovers Death Café brings together the pet lover population so that the topic of pet death can be normalized and compassionately discussed through encouraging open discourse and examination. Talking about our experiences and feelings related to the illnes and loss of a beloved pet can also open the door to start the conversation about our own dying and death.

Join us for a 6 week parent/baby course where you will learn how to use the nurturing touch to bond with your pre-crawler. Classes are held in a relaxed atmosphere and will teach you how to massage your baby while learning the many benefits that come from the nurturing touch. It will also increase your confidence and ability to care for and nurture your infant.
*To take part, please bring a small blanket for your baby as well as an exercise/yoga mat. Babies must be 0 to 10 months and dressed in easy to remove clothing.

60 minutesKathryn Patricia will guide students through this multidisciplinary workshop, drawing correlations between music and painting. While listening to different atmospheric pieces played by Kathryn with her viola, students will paint landscapes and reflect on people, places and images that inspire them to tell their life stories. Participants will learn painting techniques and reflect on the music and type of imagery they experience.
All supplies will be provided, no experience necessary. All are welcome!
About the Artist:
Hailing from Canada’s Capital region, Loop pedal violist, visual artist, composer, and educator Kathryn Patricia has crafted a singular niche in music improvisation and classical performance. She obsesses over creating uniquely arresting soundscapes, whether in solo recitals, composing and performing for art installations, and more. Named a CBC Trailblazer in 2021 and a recipient of one of Ottawa Arts Council’s Emerging Artist awards, she has been featured in Canada’s most notable Concert Series, Chamberfest, Music and Beyond, NUMUS Concert series to name a few.

Get step by step instructions in real time as you create your own version of a pre-planned fall landscape themed acrylic on canvas work of art. All experience levels welcome. All supplies provided! Stephanie Browness is a painter and art instructor who has been teaching in Ottawa for 20 years. She has worked with all age groups and firmly believes that anyone can make art. Stephanie holds a BFA in fine arts from the University of Ottawa and Master's in art history from Carleton University.
