Lorsque l’incarnation de la Mort arrive dans le village, apparemment résolue à s’emparer de leurs âmes, ses formidables habitants décident de lutter pour leur immortalité du mieux qu'ils peuvent. Dans cette histoire, la mort n'est pas une fin, mais plutôt le début d'une incroyable légende.

    In celebration of National Canadian Film Day, Cumberland branch is stoked to bring you three films - one day only! Pull up a chair and immerse yourself in the adventures we'll have on screen. Our first film, THE TIME THIEF, is based on the acclaimed novel by Fred Pellerin, The Time Thief was a box office success and received 5 Canadian Screen Award nominations, including for Pellerin’s screenplay.

    In this quirky tale full of magic and wonder, the small town of Saint-Élie-de-Caxton decides to eliminate death once and for all. When the character of Death arrives in their village seemingly determined to take their souls, the extraordinary townsfolk decide to fight against their mortality as best as they can. In this story, death is not an end, but just the beginning of a fantastic legend.

    While on a camping trip, Little Bear and his father find a lost cub who has been separated from his parents by a storm. The two become fast friends, and after Cub saves Little Bear from a mountain lion named Trouble, the pair return to Little Bear’s house to meet his pals Cat, Owl, Duck and Hen. The group of friends set out on an exciting adventure to find Cub’s parents. Based on the beloved book series by Else Holmelund Minarik and illustrated by Maurice Sendak, The Little Bear Movie is a rollicking adventure story, full of the joys and responsibilities of friendship and teamwork. 2001. 75 min.
