We’ll discuss how to leverage key elements such as conflict, goals, agency, and change to maximize the reader’s empathy with your characters. Whether you’re writing short stories or an epic novel, you’ll leave with practical tools and techniques for planning, writing, and editing your scenes.

    Join a band of adventurers as they set out from the seaside town of Dragonsbourne. This will be a three-part adventure that takes place in the ongoing location of Dragonsbourne, and its surroundings. Though this game is intended for teens who have played D&D before, beginners are also welcome. Please bring a 1st or 2nd level character and dice. Pre-made characters and dice will be provided for those who do not have their own.  This game is intended for ages 13-17.

    Think about all the data on your PC; videos of the grand kids playing in a park, photos of your trip to Patagonia (lucky you!), tax records, emails… Now think about whether those files exist anywhere else. If the answer is no, you need to think about backup.

    You could lose data due to viruses, fire, theft, tornado, hard disk failure, making an unintended change to a file, or a wayward finger deleting a file. Chris Taylor, President of the Ottawa PC Users' Group will discuss various ways you can ensure your important data survives any catastrophe.
