    Janet LeRoy and Kathie Kompass will lead this in-person, 6-part workshop series for children ages 8 to 11. Participants will have the opportunity to tell their stories in a safe space and learn to use storytelling as a means of conveying their experiences, values, and culture.

    Everyone has a story. Some of us have 1001 stories! Marie Victoria Robertson and Brad Denys will introduce you to the art of storytelling. How do you find a story to tell? Shape the story? Present the story in a way that others want to listen?

    Dans cet atelier d'écriture, les jeunes participant.e.s seront invité.e.s à découvrir la poésie par la lecture de textes d'auteurs et d'autrices de l'Ontario français et du Québec. Ils seront ensuite initié.e.s à l'écriture de leurs propres poèmes. Ils verront alors une série de poèmes ainsi que leurs composantes (champs lexicaux, figures de style, thématiques). 

    La composante participative de l'atelier les amènera à faire des exercices de création d'images poétiques (par exemple, écriture à partir de photos, à partir d'observations de leur maison, de leur salle de classe, de la nature) afin de créer eux-mêmes / elles-mêmes des textes poétiques.

    L'atelier comporte deux sessions. La première se tiendra le samedi 1er avril, de 14 h à 15 h 30, la seconde, le samedi 29 avril, de 14 h à 15 h 30. 

    9 à 12 ans.

    Junkyard Symphony are an eco-entertainment company (eco standing for ecological and economical!) that reuses junk to create fun for all ages. Come jam out with the whole family.

    Please note that this event takes place during the Sugar Festival at Richelieu park - there will be no parking near the branch.
