Regular hours resume on September 7 2021

Ottawa Public Library will return to regular pre-pandemic hours at most branches starting Tuesday, September 7, 2021 — including Sunday hours at 10 branches and InfoService as of Sunday, September 12.  

Hours are posted at branch entrances and on the Hours and location page of the OPL website.   

Fitzroy Harbour and Vernon branches are reopening after being closed since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

The elevator at Rideau is currently out of service for maintenance and repairs. Service will be restored on Monday, September 27th.

Seniors Fitness Class Online: Increasing Mobility

Join Zarina Grundy, Older Adult Group Fitness Instructor, for these gentle fitness classes that will help you to improve your mobility by stretching and doing low impact strength training using light hand weights. This program will also focus on seated core stability for balance and flexibility, and hand strengthening activities.  Have a couple of light hand weights (or small water bottles or soup cans) ready for the arm exercises and be sure to have a sturdy chair available. 

Zarina Grundy is a Certified Older Adult Group Fitness Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer, with a background as a Physiotherapist Assistant, she has been in the fitness industry for over 7 years. She currently runs her own business: Be WELL Mobile Fitness Inc., which caters to seniors who are just recently discharged from the hospital or physiotherapy.
