Ottawa Public Library’s Teen Tech Week Video Contest!

The Ottawa Public Library’s Teen Tech Week (TTW) Video Contest took place from Sunday, March 4th to Monday, April 2, 2018.
To participate, teens (13-18) were invited to create a one-minute video inspired by a book. The video can be a book trailer, a parody, a review, a dramatization of a compelling scene, or anything related to their book of choice. Teens compete for the grand prize: an iPad. Teens can also take advantage of OPL’s Makerspace to create and edit their submissions. Video cameras, green screens, lighting and the latest video editing software are available at no cost in the Imagine Space

For the eighth year in a row, contest partner SAW Video will provide a prize pack, including a video workshop, and have committed to having one of their cinematographers as the guest judge.

OPL’s video contest kicks off at the same time as the Young Adult Library Association’s Teen Tech Week, which took place March 4-10, 2018. Teen Tech Week highlights public libraries being about much more than books; OPL’s digital offerings include eBooks and audiobooks, online resources such as Teen Health and Wellness, OPL blogs, streaming and downloading resources such as Hoopla, Zinio, Lynda.com, Freegal, all OPL apps and of course the Imagine Space.
