Regular hours resume on September 7 2021

Ottawa Public Library will return to regular pre-pandemic hours at most branches starting Tuesday, September 7, 2021 — including Sunday hours at 10 branches and InfoService as of Sunday, September 12.  

Hours are posted at branch entrances and on the Hours and location page of the OPL website.   

Fitzroy Harbour and Vernon branches are reopening after being closed since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

Winter is Coming – is Your Garden Ready?

You’ve worked hard all summer; planting, watering, and weeding in your garden. Hopefully you have been enjoying their beauty and now a bountiful harvest! Are you now wondering what should be on your fall “To Do” list for your garden?  Join Mary Ann Van Berlo, Master Gardener, to learn about a number of other projects including:  

  • dividing plants
  • how to store tubers
  • protecting your plants from cold weather and rodents
  • winterizing your garden 

Mary Ann Van Berlo is an avid gardener who volunteers with Master Gardeners of Ottawa-Carleton.  Her 2.4 acre garden on the St. Lawrence is part of the 1000 Islands and Rideau Canal Garden Trail.  Since the trail opened in June 2015, Mary Ann has welcomed many visitors and bus tours to her garden. In June 2017, Mary Ann’s garden was featured in Ontario Gardener Magazine.
