Join our weekly Zoom crafting sessions for teens and learn new skills to exercise your creativity and self-expression! More than just ‘making pretty things,’ crafting also serves as a soothing mindfulness exercise and can help to develop practical planning and problem-solving skills. Every week we will demonstrate how to make a different craft. 

For teens 13 to 18.

Week 1 (June 30): Friendship bracelets: beginner (straight lines, simple arrowheads) 

What you will need: coloured embroidery threads or yarn; scissors; safety pin or masking tape or extra thread to hold your work steady 

Week 2 (July 7): Friendship bracelets: novice (building on the basics) 

What you will need: see above 

Week 3 (July 14): Felt ornament (mushroom) 

What you will need: pattern (print or copy image below); felt in at least 2 colours; embroidery thread; embroidery/sewing needle; scissors

Week 5 (July 28)bath bombs 

What you will need: baking soda, corn starch, citric acid, epsom salt, oil, essential oil, food colouring (optional), mixing bowl, measuring cup, spoon, shaping mold (examples: plastic easter egg, muffin tin, ice cube tray)

Week 6 (August 4): zentangle bookmark 

What you will need: paper, scissors, coloured pencils or markers 

Week 7 (August 11): origami (crane, star, flower) 

What you will need: paper, scissors, glue

Week 8 (August 18): mini book 

What you will need: paper, cardboard, scissors, glue
