Ottawa– The time is here again for aspiring young authors to put their creative and expressive efforts toward a poem, short story or comic for entry in the Ottawa Public Library’s Awesome Authors youth writing contest.
OPL calls out to young writers across Ottawa to showcase their work and stretch their writing muscles by joining in writing workshops with established and published authors. The contest is open to Ottawa residents between 9 and 18 years of age; whether they are just starting out, have been writing for years, or simply love to write. Be it poetic, comic, or short story form, we want to hear what our city’s youth have to say in their own words. This year’s cash prize is sure to be an incentive!
Past Awesome Authors winners have found the contest, workshop and writing experience to be motivating and inspiring. Winning entries will be published in the annual pot-pourri anthology.
