Census controversy rages on

The debate over the government's decision to cancel the long-form Census questionnaire continues.  Keep up with the latest developments on the Census Crisis Information Centre blog from CAPDU (Canadian Association of Public Data Users).  Along with news highlights, the What You Can Do section provides sample letters for those wishing to protest the decision.  For a complete listing of news stories on the issue, see Census Watch on datalibre.

Has the controversy piqued your interest in the Census?  Much of the data is available on Statistics Canada's Census website.  Try the 2006 Community Profiles to display all kinds of data on any community in Canada.  Or look at Census Tract profiles and enter your postal code to find out all about your neighbourhood and make comparisons with other areas.
