Anne Lamott has written a powerful book, really more like a hardcover essay, likely the most honest and human book of prayer there is. A book to be read in one sitting because you have to and then again in contemplation because you need to. There are stories of prayers uttered on bended knee and those that come from a place that is straight and angry. When you consider how angry God must have been to send The Flood, perhaps strong emotion is acceptable. Meek isn't for everyone.
Prayer comes in all forms; The Lord is My Shepherd, the " good china of prayers" to the stark and personal "Help". Listening, tuning in to the answer is the tricky part. Help Thanks Wow Amen
Kirkus says "A refreshingly simple approach to spiritual practice in a pint-sized reflection on prayer.
