The Manotick Branch has a return artist for the month of September: Ted Burnside. A description of his art and brief biography can be found in the previous year's blog entry (See "Artist of the Month: 'Kings and Horses'"), so this is a man who needs no re-introduction. Ted provides a story of his recent exhibitions: Ted's acylic paintings will be on display at the Manotick Branch Library until the end of September 2019.
"On Aug 24th I displayed 3 paintings at the Queensborough Art Show [near Tweed, Ontario] , as it is part of the community where I grew up. Over 100 pieces of fine art were on display in a refurbished LOL [Loyal Orange Lodge] Hall which is now a museum. I “painted out “ during the day but in the late afternoon a gentleman and lady came to my location by an old Grist Mill, and they purchased 2 of my three paintings. Laurene, my wife walked over to the Hall with them to release the paintings, and when she wrote their names and addresses she was pleased and surprised to learn that the gentleman was none other than the author of “The English Patient”, whom I am sure all your readers know. Quite a thrill!! "
