Jody Wilson-Raybould’s outstanding memoir, “Indian in the Cabinet” is again ignored, in spite of the panelists love for all things Indigenous. Ann Archer makes no reference to the infamous threatening telephone call made to Wilson-Raybould by Justin Trudeau consigliere Michael Wernick. He tried to pressure Wilson-Raybould into asking Ms. McLachlin for her opinion on a deferred prosecution agreement for SNC Lavalin. The whole telephone call is reproduced in “Indian in the Cabinet” including Wilson-Raybould telling Wernich “I cannot even imagine her feeling in anyway shape or form comfortable interfering with the independent prosecutor.” A lot of Canadians have probably only heard of Justice McLachlin in connection with this phone call, but Archer doesn’t want to mention it. It seems the All-in-a-Day book panel is a Trudeau-criticism-free zone, much like the All-in-a-Day political panel.
