We invite you to come rave about your favourite books, and share your love for them with other passionate readers.
Whether it be an old favourite from your childhood, or something new and amazing that recently crossed your path, we want to see what you recommend everyone should read and hear why you loved it.
A list of the recommended titles will appear on the website after the event*, to share with other members of the community what Cumberland-area residents are reading.

In May we plunge into the halls of a residential school for the deaf. April brings us to Korea, following one Korean family through the generations. Through desperate struggles and hard-won triumphs, its members are bound together by deep roots as they face enduring questions of faith, family, and identity.
March will find us in Thune, where, worn out after decades of mercenary work, Viv, the orc barbarian, decides to hunt for one last treasure before settling down and opening a coffee shop. Unfortunately - or fortunately - her transition to the quiet life is anything but quiet.)
February brings us to Molly Gray, a maid who struggles with social skills and takes comfort in creating order out of chaos. When she finds the body of a wealthy patron in his hotel room, it turns out murder is one mess she cannot clean up on her own.
January brings us to Europe, where Bird and Mimi, an Indigenous couple inspired by a handful of old postcards sent by Uncle Lenny nearly a hundred years before, attempt to trace the steps of Mimi's long-lost uncle and the family medicine bundle he took with him to Europe.

November brings us to turn-of-the-century America, where Englishwoman Alice Wright evades her new overbearing in-laws by joining the Horseback Librarians of Kentucky.
In October, dive into Cole's personal experiences with the racist practices of the Toronto police force, and the realities of discrimination in Canada.
We kick off September with Henny, who has just "kicked off" unexpectedly, and just as unexpectedly finds herself haunting the charmingly decrepit Pine Away Motel and Cabins where she and her friends worked.
