    Technology can be challenging, so join our enthusiastic BH Tech Team, who will give you a good foundation and the confidence to use your preferred devices (e.g phone, laptop, e-reader) . Our team can also provide you with information on how to use library resources such as Libby (ebooks and audiobooks) and Hoopla (music, video, graphic novels). 

    Our BH Tech group will be available to assist you with basic tech questions, as well as point you in the right direction for topics we do not handle.

    Here are a few examples of the topics we do not cover:

    - Diagnosis and Repair of Devices

    - Online banking or shopping-related transactions.

    - Unsupported devices (such as Kindles).

    In short, we can help you make the best of your devices or applications/tools.

    Every Monday evening we put the spotlight on a director's work, giving us a chance to explore their oeuvre, revisit movies we've played on Tuesdays, and just....watch some good movies. This month's pick is Akira Kurosawa.

    Join us for a free screening of Rashomon In as part of our Monday Director Spotlight Series. The film was released in 1950. The screening will take place in our auditorium, starts at 6:00PM and is free to attend.

    Note: The film is intended for a mature audience. 88 minutes. In Japanese with English subtitles.

    Presented by Dying With Dignity Canada (Ottawa Chapter), End of Life Options (including MAiD) is a workshop to educate people about the options available to mitigate or end suffering at life's end, including palliative care, treatment options, and Medical Assistance In Dying (MAiD). Workshop includes the current legislation on MAiD, the process for applying in Ontario and explanation of the experience by a loved one.

    Come and meet Carole Gobeil, a polar travel advisor here in Ottawa who has a passion for the polar regions. Her last voyage in February/March 2024 included landings/visits to the Falkland islands, South Georgia and the Antarctica peninsula. She also managed to cross the Antarctic circle on that same expedition. This was her 6th adventure to Antarctica and beyond.
